The ukulele was first called a machida by Portuguese travelers and arrived in Hawaii in the early1870's. Hawaiians made their own version called a ukulele around 1879. It has become one of the most popular instruments of all time.
"Le'ale'a" (pronounced "lay-ah-lay-ah) is the Hawaiian word for having fun and that is the intent of the group!!
We meet every Wednesday from 2-4 pm at Chula Vista Rec Center 1011 Rio Grande Ave in The Villages, phone # 352-753-0002. Please bring your Villages I.D. with you. As per T.V. policy, all group participants are required to sign The Villages Recreation Waiver upon joining the group.

There's a Dropbox file along with 2 sub-files available with mainly intermediate level songs and more songs will be added as time goes on. Send me your email address
